About the Community Technology Empowerment Project (CTEP)
The Community Technology Empowerment Project (CTEP) mobilizes AmeriCorps members to bridge the digital divide, targeting the unique technology and resource access needs of many different communities in the Twin Cities. Members serve to develop culturally-appropriate training materials in computer education, train communities in technology literacy, and help communities tell stories important to them through media education.
- Desire to serve others with at least one year of experience
- Post-secondary education
- Technology skills, from basic to advanced; preferred areas include computer applications, web design, and video production
- Experience training others, especially in technology
- Bilingual in Hmong, Somali, Spanish, or other language
- Experience managing volunteers
- Learn technology skills
- Work in many different situations with people from a variety of backgrounds
- Participate in meaningful projects that benefit the Twin Cities community
