About Heading Home Corps

Heading Home Corps engages a team of Housing Resource Navigators in helping Minnesotans work towards safe and stable housing. The Housing Resource Navigator is placed at a service site to support individuals experiencing homelessness – navigating resources and supports to secure safe and stable housing. Navigators establish a relationship with each individual on their caseload and will work with that individual to assess their unique needs, set goals, and sit side-by-side to help navigate resources to overcome barriers and ultimately achieve their goals.

  • Foster strong relationships with participants
  • Guide participants in creatng housing-related goals
  • Track participant progress
  • Connect participants with social service resources and programs
  • Commit to your own growth through training and professional development
  • Dependable and have a history of good attendance
  • Able to set a pace and maintain a service schedule, depending on the agreed upon hours commitment
  • Proficient in basic computer skills (like email and navigating online)
  • Fluent in English for speaking, reading, and writing
  • 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent
  • A citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States
  • Ability to succesfully complete a background check
